Dear Early 80's Classmates:

Two years have passed since our last reunion, and it’s time to liven up Richwood again! The 2001 reunion was so great, we had planned on having it last year also. As most of you know, last year’s reunion was canceled because there were no facilities available to hold all of us.

Well, that won’t happen this year. We have already booked the National Guard Armory in Richwood for Saturday evening’s festivities.

Richwood High School classes of 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983 and 1984 combined reunion will rock Richwood on August 1, 2 and 3. This weekend also kicks off the Cherry River Festival, so why not plan to stay the whole week, through the parade on August 9. Don't miss this opportunity to catch up with all your old classmates and friends.

Scheduled events are:

Friday, August 1, 6 p.m. Meet at RHS gym for class basketball games. Anyone feeling adventurous can sign up to play in several games (around 15-20 minutes each). Five-team bracket - teams will be designated at 6 p.m., first game at 6:30 p.m. Anyone who still owns or can borrow an instrument is invited to play a few songs to entertain the crowd. All former band members will want to participate, as our former leader, David Bess, will be directing the group again this year. If you participated last time, the same music will be used. If you need music, please contact Diana Stull, 304-846-6322 evenings, or email jackanddiana@richwoodwv.com. If you don't want to participate in ball or band, join us in the cheering section, to root for your favorite year. Donations will be taken at the door. Concession stand will be open. School will be open, so roam the halls and remember the good old days.

Saturday, August 2, 9 a.m. Join former classmates for a few hours of golfing at Cherry Hill Country Club.

Noon to 3 p.m., Family gathering at Richwood City Park. Bring a picnic lunch and your family and meet everyone for a few hours of leisurely fun. The City Pool will be open to the public (at regular admission price) for anyone wanting to swim.

6:00 p.m. Armory opens for dinner and dance. Dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. Group pictures will start at 8 p.m. (pay photographer at time of photo). Dance with refreshments at 10 p.m. to ?? (open to the public). Entertainment has not been set yet. There will be no bar, so bring bring your choice of beverage.

Sunday, August 3, 11 a.m. to ?? Farewell picnic at Woodbine Picnic Area. Bring a lunch and stay the day!

Local motels in Richwood are: Four Seasons Lodge 1-800-829-4605 or WaterGate Inn, 304-846-2632.

Letters will be sent to all addresses we have from the 2001 reunion. Please pass the word along to anyone you know in these classes. Anyone who needs a registration letter can contact one of us.

Please return the registration form below by July 1, 2003. Richwood's website is not under the same management, so we’re not sure any info can be posted there. If you need more info, call or email one us.
